The app is free, forever
The NixSCP application is a complete SFTP, SCP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV and Amazon S3 client for Linux and Windows, free for personal and commercial use under the GPL-3.0 license, with no time limit, ads or locked features. You get the WinSCP Commander interface with session tabs, the background transfer queue with parallel and resumable transfers, Synchronize and "Keep remote directory up to date", Find Files, custom commands, workspaces, PuTTY .ppk key support, WinSCP.ini import and export, and nixscp-cli for WinSCP scripts. This does not change during or after the beta.
Sync is free during the beta
NixSCP Pro is for people who use NixSCP on more than one computer, for example a desktop at work and a laptop at home. It keeps sites, stored passwords, preferences, workspaces, bookmarks and even your open session tabs the same everywhere, end-to-end encrypted with Argon2id and AES-256-GCM so we cannot read them. During the public beta every NixSCP account can use it at no cost. How the encryption works.
What happens after the beta?
Will sync stay free?
After the beta, sync becomes a paid NixSCP Pro feature. The NixSCP application itself stays free and open source, with every file transfer feature included.
How will I know when the beta ends?
NixSCP will tell you inside the app when the beta ends, so you can decide whether to continue with NixSCP Pro.
What happens to my synced data?
Nothing is lost. Your synced data is kept, everything stays on your computers and NixSCP keeps working. Downloading your synced settings keeps working too, for example to set up a new computer.
Do I need Pro to use NixSCP at work?
No. The NixSCP application is free for commercial use under the GPL-3.0 license, with every file transfer feature included. Pro only adds encrypted sync between computers.
